The Secretary of the Army Awards for Excellence in Contracting recognizes the outstanding achievements of contracting officers, units/teams and special awards.

Purpose: To recognize outstanding achievements in contracting for contracting officers, units/teams and special awards (contract specialist, procurement analyst, etc.) within the Army.

Eligibility: All Army commands; Army Service Component Commands; Direct Reporting Units; Program Executive Offices; and HQDA are encouraged to nominate eligible individuals, units or teams for competition at the Army level.

The Outstanding Contracting Officers Award will recognize civilian or military in six different categories:

Installation Level Contracting Centers
Installation Level Directorate of Contracting
Systems Contracting
Logistics Support (Sustainment) Contracting
Specialized Services and Construction Contracting
Contingency Contracting

The Unit/Team Awards are given for Installation Level Contracting; Systems Contracting; Logistics Support (Sustainment) Contracting; and Specialized Services and Construction Contracting. The Special Awards are given for Outstanding Contract Specialist (military or civilian), Outstanding Procurement Analyst (military or civilian), the AbitlityOne Program formerly known as Javits Wagner O’Day program and Barbara C. Heald Award (civilian).
