Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Contracting Noncommissioned Officer: Mission
The primary objective of Career Management Field 51- Aquisition and Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) Acquisition, Logistics and Technology (ALT) Contracting Noncommissioned Officer is to ensure the Army has trained, qualified, experienced and certified Soldiers that maintain a high state of combat readiness.
The MOS 51C was designed to aide the Acquisition Corps in bridging the gaps that occur before military logistics resources can be mobilized. In some cases this aide will be necessary for the duration of the contingency, humanitarian, assistance or peacekeeping operations; especially where no Host Nation Support (HNS), nation to nation, agreements exist for the supplies or services required.
ALT Contracting NCOs as "Force Enablers" strive to augment existing logistics support capabilities and provide a new source of support for critically required supplies, services and minor construction during initial deployment, sustainment, and redeployment. These requirements are satisfied through planning, solicitation, award and administration of contracts in support of contingency missions.
