51C MOS Training
The 9-week transition course consists of the following three courses – AAFC/ABCC/AIPM. These three courses must be take consecutively and prior to the first acquisition assignment.
- Army Acquisition Foundation Course (AAFC), School Code 701H, Course ID 8D-F48/551-51C30 – This three week course is designed to provide entry-level training in program management and contracting. This course should be taken prior to your first acquisition assignment.
- Army Intermediate Program Management Course (AIPM), School Code 701H, Course ID 8D-F46/551-F34 – This three-week course provides intermediate level training in program management. This course is taken immediately following AAFC for all newly assessed NCOs and should be taken prior to your first acquisition assignment.
- Army Basic Contracting Course (ABCC), School Code 701H, Course ID 8D-F50/551-51C30 – This three week course is designed to provide training in contingency contracting, Procurement Desktop-Defense (PD2) Software and cost and pricing. This course should be taken immediately after AAFC and prior to your first acquisition assignment.
- Army Acquisition Intermediate Contracting Course, School Code 701H, Course ID 8D-F49/551-F49 (MC) – This four-week course is designed to provide intermediate level training in contracting. This course will be taken after you have completed your current DAWIA Level I education in Contracting, have an associate’s degree or 60 semester credit hours (with a minimum of 24 semester hours in accounting, law, business, finance, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods or organization management), and have a minimum of two years of operational contracting experience.
