Hot Topic #1: Naval Postgraduate School Master of Science in Program Management (NPS-MSPM) Program Announcement The Army Director, Acquisition Career Management (DACM) has the announced the offering of NPS-MSPM Program, class 836-161. The announcement opens Feb. 3 and closes March 17. This distance learning program is the premier Army DACM Office-funded master’s degree program, and offers an opportunity to earn an MS in program management on a part-time basis within a two-year timeframe. The Army Deputy DACM (DDACM) Office sponsors the NPS-MSPM Program and will fund the tuition and book costs. The Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Katrina McFarland, received the David D. Acker “Skill in Communication” Award. The Acker Award is the most prestigious of the awards sponsored by the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Alumni Association. It is presented annually to an individual who has promoted and communicated acquisition management and leadership excellence to the acquisition workforce. Education and Training Opportunities The Army Director of Acquisition Career Management (DACM) office, along with the rest of the Department of Defense, has recently received significant funding cuts. However, our top priority remains ensuring that our civilian and military workforce has multiple opportunities to meet their statutory certification and development requirements. We will continue to fund those already enrolled in any of our tuition assistance, leadership development, or experiential programs. In addition, we are working daily to ensure future opportunities remain viable.
