5: AMLC WELCOMES NEW COMMANDER U.S. Army Medical Logistics Command (AMLC), headquartered at Fort Detrick, Mary- land, held its first change of command cere- mony on July 1 with Col. Anthony “Tony” Nesbitt, left, taking command. Nesbitt is only the second commander of the Army’s premier medical logistics organization, succeed- ing AMLC’s first commander, Brig. Gen. Michael Lalor, far right, who will now serve as commandant of the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps and School at Fort Lee, Virginia. Sgt. Maj. Danyell Walters, center right, partici- pated in the ceremony and received the command’s colors from Nesbitt. AMLC was formed in 2019 through an Army restructur- ing to serve as the Army’s life cycle manage- ment command for medical materiel under Army Communications-Electronics Command and Army Materiel Command.
