Each Army Acquisition Functional Leader (AAFL) designates a GS-15/NH-04 Army Acquisition Functional Advisor (AAFA) to serve as a subject matter expert within their respective Acquisition Functional Area (AFA). The AAFAs represent the Army, AAFL, and AFA at all Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)-led Functional Integrated Team (FIT) meetings. They provide the AAFL, DACM Office, and OSD FIT with recommendations on developing and shaping the AFA’s education, training, career development, and experience requirements, including but not limited to DAWIA certification, workforce competencies, career models, and position category descriptions.
