Overview

VISION

A highly capable, agile, adaptive and professional Army Acquisition Workforce

MISSION

To build a highly capable, agile and adaptive Army Acquisition Workforce (AAW) by maintaining certification standards through partnership with OSD and the other Services, by managing the eight Personnel Development System Life-Cycle Management Functions, and by strengthening partnerships with Army Acquisition Functional Leaders (AAFL), Army Acquisition Functional Advisors (AAFA), Commands/Organizations, and Career Programs offices to build an AAW capable of achieving current and future acquisition requirements.

FUNCTION

The AAW Proponency, Analysis and Communications Division conducts analysis, development, and integration of doctrine, organization, training, material, leadership and education, personnel, and policy (DOTMLPF-P) requirements in support of the Acquisition TDA and TOE strategy through Tactical workforce structure.

Who We Serve

What We Do

Structure: Define acquisition capabilities and create the required force structure.

  • Military Acquisition Position List (MAPL) management
  • 51C Reclassification Board
  • Voluntary Transfer Incentive Program (VTIP)

Distribution: (Supports) Distribute personnel based on the Army requirements and in accordance with HQDA priorities.

  •  Manage the Centralized Selection List positions and Military Acquisition assignments to enable AMB to monitor the effective distribution of personnel
  • (Supports) Development of the Annual Acquisition Corps Manning guidance nested with the Army Manning Guidance

Development: Develop people mentally, morally and physically.

  • Coordination with The Army Acquisition School (TAAS)
  • Professional Military Education (PME) management
  • Training and Educational Opportunities (e.g. ACS, TWI)

Deployment: (Supports) Deploy troops, civilians, cargo, and weapon systems to theater of operations.

  • Monitor MOBCOP Individual Augmentee opportunities for Functional Area 51s
