ACC contracting officers capture Army awards

REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. (Dec. 1, 2015) – Army Contracting Command contracting officers earned 11 individual and team honors in the Fiscal Year 2015 Secretary of the Army Awards for Excellence in Contracting, according to the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Procurement).

“These awards are a testament to your professionalism and performance” said Maj. Gen. James E. Simpson, ACC commanding general. “They reflect your daily commitment to excellence and service, providing our Army what it needs to accomplish the mission.”

Jaime E. Reed, 414th Contracting Support Brigade, Vicenza, Italy, won the Barbara C. Heald Award. According to the award website, the award recognizes a deployed civilian “whose actions clearly demonstrate or embody those unique, outstanding qualities possessed by Ms. Heald. This includes making extraordinary commitment and sacrifices in the service of their country; demonstrated professionalism in contracting; and dedicated to selfless public service aimed at supporting the mission of the United States Army.”

Brittany R. Cecil, ACC-Rock Island, Illinois, was named the Outstanding Contract Specialist/Procurement Analyst.

Rhonda D. Sledge, ACC-Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the Outstanding Contracting Officer, Installation Level-Directorate of Contracting.

Evelyn D. Harris, ACC-Redstone, is the Outstanding Contracting Officer, Systems, Research and Development, Logistics Support (Sustainment) Contracting.

Melissa K. Light, ACC-RI was named the Outstanding Contracting Officer, Specialized Services and Construction Contracting.

Sgt. 1st Class Rachel Y. Harris, 413th CSB, Fort Shafter, Hawaii, is the Outstanding Contracting Officer, Contingency Contracting.

The Stryker Logistics Support Team, ACC-Warren, Michigan, won the Outstanding Unit/Team Award for Systems, R&D, Logistics Support (Sustainment) Contracting.

The 414th CSB’s Regional Contracting Office earned the Outstanding Unit/Team Award for Contingency Contracting.

ACC-RI’s Joint Manufacturing and Technology Contracting Branch captured the Outstanding Unit/Team Award for Installation Level-Directorate of Contracting.

The Outstanding Unit/Team Award for Specialized Services and Construction Contracting went to TACOM Strategic Services Solutions Team, ACC-Warren.

The New England Soldier System and Individual Equipment Team, Natick Division, ACC-Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, captured the AbilityOne Program Award.
