Army Acquisition Stakeholders Recognized for Excellence

Ronald R. Richardson Jr., the Director, Acquisition Career Management (DACM), recognized several organizational acquisition points of contact (OAPs) and acquisition organizations at the annual OAP Lead Summit, held April 17-18 in Orlando, Florida.

OAPs are a critical component of the Army acquisition stakeholder network because they often interact directly with Army Acquisition Workforce (AAW) members and their supervisors. An OAP’s role is to provide general acquisition career management guidance, respond to Career Acquisition Personnel and Position Management System data calls and ensure timely announcement of Army acquisition education and training programs in support of a designated organization. “We provide customer service to answer any and all questions,” said Jennifer Marshall, lead OAP for the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command C5ISR Center.

Hosted by the Program Executive Office (PEO) for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation, the event featured included program updates related to AAW career fields, training and development opportunities, and policies affecting the workforce. At the event, the DACM recognized the following OAPs for excellent service and support:

Melissa Carter, PEO Ground Combat Systems
Linda Faison, PEO Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives
Adam Hall, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)
Christine Jolley, PEO Command, Control and Communications-Tactical
Yancy Mitchell, U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command
Kerri Momberger, U.S. Army Futures Command
Juan Ortiz, U.S. Army Contracting Command, Mission and Installation Contracting Command
Susan Povinelli, U.S. Army Materiel Command
Laura Quick, USACE
Tobias Smith, PEO Enterprise Information Systems

The DACM also recognized the following organizations for reaching 100% compliance with the Senior Rater Potential Evaluation (SRPE):
PEO Combat Support and Combat Service Support
PEO Ground Combat Systems
Army Space and Missile Defense Command
Army Contracting Command, Mission and Installation Contracting Command

The SRPE is a tool to help civilian AAW employees identify their leadership strengths as they relate to a set of competencies required by professionals in leadership positions. It is a key component of the DACM’s efforts to develop a highly qualified acquisition workforce. Employees use the information in the SRPE to structure continuous learning and an Individual Development Plan that maximizes their potential for performance in positions of increased responsibility.
