Faces of the Force - Kimberly McCleerey

Kimberly McCleerey

Acquisition Manager Kimberly McCleerey has supported the Joint Program Executive Office for Armaments and Ammunition (JPEO A&A) since 1995 and has been with the Army for more than 26 years. Overseeing 100 active contracts and $1 billion annually, McCleerey has been recognized with three Packard Awards and has saved DOD more than $1 billion over the lifespan of one contract.

McCleerey is recognized throughout the ammunition community as the expert to seek when a difficult acquisition problem arises. She recently stepped up to handle an acquisition problem outside her PM shop that had to be resolved over a weekend and where failure would have resulted in the loss of critical information systems. She worked out an agreement among the contracting officer, prime contractor and subcontractor that resulted in uninterrupted service to JPEO A&A.

McCleerey is always willing to share her knowledge and help solve any contracting issues that come up within JPEO A&A. Under her tutelage and example, two members of her staff have moved on to positions of increased responsibility, one as an acquisition manager in another busy PM office and one into a position as deputy product director.

“Faces of the Force” is an online series highlighting members of the Army Acquisition Workforce through the power of individual stories.
