Faces of the Force: Greg Panas
Greg Panas’ sustained superior professional technical contributions on behalf of the Joint Program Executive Office for Armaments and Ammunition (JPEO A&A) are directly enabling the “go fast” delivery of PNT-enabled combat overmatch capabilities to the Army and joint warfighter.
Panas serves as a subject matter expert on all things related to M-Code GPS within JPEO A&A’s Assured Precision Weapons and Munitions Office. M-Code replaces the older military GPS signal, and is congressionally mandated for use by all DOD systems currently in development or production.
Panas’ technical acumen and his superior communication and teaming skills were repeatedly demonstrated in multiple problem-solving sessions, risk mitigation interactions and widely attended discussions. He successfully detailed Army efforts to field M-Code capable precision guided munitions (PGMs) to nearly 300 attendees at a recent Military GPS User Equipment (MGUE) Technical Exchange Meeting, and subsequently received strong official praise from the Air Force MGUE Increment 1 program manager. Under the auspices of the Air Force MGUE Increment 2 program, Panas negotiated with government organizations and industry partners to develop, define, coordinate and defend PGM technical requirements within the context of challenging peer and near-peer threat environments.
In addition to chairing a working-level IPT for joint lethality PNT experts, Panas also works with the director of the Assured PNT Cross Functional Team’s M-code GPS Task Force to capture and define the Army’s holistic migration modernization strategy to MGUE.
