by Mr. Kris Osborn
HARNESSING COMPETITION The Army awarded three contracts for the EMD phase of the JLTV, worth $55 million to $65 million each, to develop and test competing versions of the next-generation vehicle. The resulting vehicle will be designed with an unprecedented blend of survivability, performance and payload. The goal at the end of the EMD phase will be to down-select to a single vendor and move into LRIP by 2015. (Photos courtesy of JPO JLTV)
