ARMY AL&T SUMMER ISSUE FOCUSES ON ENABLING MODERNIZATION

FORT BELVOIR, Va. (July 28, 2021)—The Summer 2021 issue of Army AL&T magazine focuses on “Enabling Modernization.” Sometimes we’re our own worst enemy in creating an environment that fosters modernization. Policies, rules, regulations, organization structures, current technology, costs and politics all play a role in hampering modernization efforts. It’s our job as acquisition professionals to identify the impediments and clear the way for the future of Army modernization. Read how:

  • The IVAS Mounted system amplifies capabilities in “MOUNT UP.”
  • As the Army focuses on modernizing training capability, a simulation system provides the most realistic experience outside of combat. Don’t miss “YOU CAN RELY ON THE TESS.”
  • The Synthetic Training Environment will provide a high-tech training solution for the Army. Read more in “GAME ON.”
  • Fresh from its cold-weather test in Alaska, IVAS is tested in the tropics. Find out more in “A DAY IN THE SUN.”
  •  A virtual training concept saves on cost and benefits teleworkers in “DRO SKO MAKES VIRTUAL HOUSE CALLS.”
  • Lake City Army Ammunition Plant seizes the opportunity to modernize in “EXTREME MAKEOVER.”
  • Learn more about the Joint Munition Command’s approach to modernization in “CONSTANT READINESS.”
  • Night vision levels up. Read about the Enhanced Night Vision Goggle – Binocular and its capabilities when integrated with Nett Warrior and the Family Weapon Sights – Individual optic in “OWNING THE NIGHT.”
  • A new course teaches foreign military sales for the Army security assistance enterprise in “ENGAGING FOUR GENERATIONS OF WORKERS.”

Don’t forget, Army AL&T relies on contributions from you, the Army Acquisition Workforce and our stakeholders.
