Applicants must apply within two years of degree or certificate completion, except for veterans who are precluded from doing so by their military service obligation. Veterans have up to six years after degree or certificate completion to apply. Tis program allows

the internship program to a term or permanent position in the competitive service, provided that all the terms of 5 CFR 362.204 are met and there is an available position within 120 days of successfully completing the program.

During the final year of this program, it is possible for an intern to be chosen for a noncompetitive, permanent AcqDemo position within the organization, should all requirements be met or exceeded and management approves.
