HISTORY:
Army AL&T magazine served as a quarterly professional journal, comprising in-depth, analytically focused articles serving the Army acquisition community.
The first issue of what was then called “Army Research and Development” magazine, was published in December 1960 by the Army Research Office. In 1980, the publication was placed under the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Research, Development and Acquisition (ASARDA) and renamed “Army RD&A.” In 2000, when the ASARDA was renamed the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology (ASA(ALT)), the publication changed once again, this time landing on “Army AL&T.”
The magazine’s mission was to instruct members of the Army AL&T community about acquisition processes, procedures, techniques and management philosophy, and to also to disseminate information pertinent to the professional development of workforce members and others engaged in acquisition activities. The magazine was available in hard copy and online until it sunset in 2025, with the last print issue being the summer issue.
